First: Take a piece of paper, and at the top of the paper, write a list of 5 to 7 things about yourself – things you enjoy doing. These are the things you like to do during your holidays, weekends, or leisure time.
For example, I love reading business management books and discussing business ideas with friends in my free time. That's why I decided to become a consultant for small and startup businesses.
For instance, someone loves food and frequently visits restaurants, so they decided to open their own restaurant.
Another example is someone who loves animals and goes to the poultry and bird market every weekend, so their business idea was to start a poultry farm.
Other examples:
I love dealing with people.
I love children.
I love reading.
I love computers.
I love numbers.
I love solving problems.
Just write down whatever comes to your mind. Do not interpret or explain anything; you will then have a list of things you enjoy.
On the other side of the paper, write down the things you don't think you're good at or things you don't enjoy doing.
Examples:
I don’t like getting into details.
I don’t like dealing with people directly.
I don’t like fieldwork.
I don’t like computers.
I don’t like traveling.
Now, search the market, and based on the traits you like and dislike, you will be able to come up with an idea that perfectly suits your personality. That’s when creativity happens.
People who start businesses that align with their personalities achieve significant success and excel at developing these businesses. On the other hand, people who start businesses that don't match their personalities often withdraw from those projects quickly.
